The APN Junior Ranger Program combines the Land Management, Traditional activities and Cattle of APN with increasing awareness with Aurukun school children, improving traditional knowledge and engagement in school activities.

Overview

In conjunction with the Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Aurukun School, the Junior Ranger program has been developed.

The project has a number of elements, all of which combine to provide a professional and culturally appropriate program to engage children at the Aurukun School.

The project has a number of elements, all of which combine to provide a professional and culturally appropriate program to engage children at the Aurukun School.

Each week, six activities will be made by APN Board and staff to the Club and Culture program at the Aurukun School. The activities will include a combination of images, narratives and video activities coupled with face to face contact with APN Board and staff members.

The activities will be available to the school for other activities and revolve around APN Land Management activities on country with Rangers. APN will utilise its current photo library as well as current video activity that will be updated each year.

The activity will include a Powerpoint presentation with updates from each video activity. The video activity will be updated at the beginning of each year.
